Grades: 3rd-12th- (Level: Foundations I- Beginning students with no previous experience required)
Meetings: Once per month- 135 min.
Location: Elk Grove Regional Park or Online

Price: $55 per student for each monthly class
or all four classes for $150 (save $15).

Level: Foundations II
Course Details
Students will study and observe the distinctive art movements and artistic traditions that influenced the techniques of the masters. Through careful observation and guided study, students will gain an understanding of how artists used color, composition, value, and technique to communicate their ideas. Students will then apply these principles to create their own original compositions.
This creative exploration course uses soft pastels as its primary medium, providing students with hands-on instruction in fundamental pastel techniques while encouraging thoughtful observation, craftsmanship, and individual artistic expression.
Grades: 3rd-12th- (Level: Foundations II- students who have some experience and knowledge of art mediums are recommended)
Meetings: Once per month- 105 min.
Location: Online format

Fundamentals of Drawing
The foundations of drawing skills build confidence in young artists!
Fundamentals of Drawing
Level: Foundations I
Course Details
This drawing course teaches students how to develop the essential skills and concepts needed for observational and creative drawing. Lessons are built on the student's current ability as they learn the fundamentals of line, shape, form, proportion, perspective, value, texture, composition, and spatial relationships. Through demonstrations, exercises, and drawing from still life, objects, figures, and the surrounding environment, students build confidence in seeing and representing subjects accurately. The course also encourages experimentation, visual problem-solving, and the development of an individual artistic style. Creative and technical homework assignments will be given each week to encourage student progress. Students should expect to spend up to 1.5 hours per week on homework assignments (depending on skill level). Students will be thrilled at what they will learn to draw!
No previous drawing experience is required.
ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED.
Grades: 4th-12th (Level: Foundations II- students who have some experience and knowledge with the art medium are recommended)

In-person Classes
Join us for an outdoor painting experience where students of all levels learn classical painting techniques! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, everyone is welcome to explore their artistic potential.
Grab your brushes and let's create something beautiful together!
Students will take home their own completed painting!
Students will learn to see as artists and develop skills of artistic observation. The class will be guided with STEP-BY-STEP instructions on how to use classical techniques to master foundational fine-art painting skills.
Students from 3rd to 12th grade are welcome.
Teachers work with students individually according to their age and ability.
Students will be taught painting elements such as:
-Elements of Composition
-Changing light and shadows
-Creating depth
-Perspective
-Color theory
-Brush techniques
-Blending
Students will paint using a traditional French box easel and palette in the beautiful Elk Grove Regional Park.
The specific location in the park will be sent to enrolled families only.
